What’s New 2022 Lincoln Navigator Hybrid
We don’t yet have much information about interior updates or new technologies for the 2022 Lincoln Navigator. Considering the sizeable digital display available in its Escalade rival, a revamped dashboard with a larger center touchscreen is pretty assured. Navigator currently offers a 10-inch unit, which looks small by 2020, and we expect more controls to be downgraded to systems for cleaner greenhouses. Under the skin, a hybrid system of the new Ford F-150 is expected to appear at some point.
2022 Lincoln Navigator Exterior Redesign
2022 Lincoln Navigator has a lot to do. Most notable is the redesign of the front fascia, which in itself has undergone many changes. The updated front fascia gets a new higher grille, paired with a revised set of headlights that will run further back to the fender, with LEDs now sitting lower at the revised front end. The back also appears to have a heavy refresher. We don’t know exactly what’s going on back there, but you can expect the back to borrow a similar design from Aviator which recently debuted.

We can also see a little interior of the Expedition, and there are a few things to note on this front. For starters, a prominent, vertically oriented infotainment screen follows a Mustang Mach-E unit. This is important not only on the specifications but also because it signifies that the interior of the Expedition will deviate more significantly from the F-150.
The Standard Trim gets a climate-controlled ten-way power comfort front seat and heated second-row seats, while the Reserve is upgraded to a 24-way Perfect Position power seat with a thigh-skimming and second-row passenger gets their own center console. The top-level Black Label trim gets a 30-way power front seat with massage function as well. Getting in and out of an SUV is pretty easy, thanks to its well-placed grip and power-propagated stair rails. Accessing third-row seats is easiest on Standard trim as it gets pass-through rather than second-row consoles. However, the second-row seats can be tilted and shifted in each trim.
2022 Lincoln Navigator Infotainment and Connectivity
The ten-inch Sync 3 LCD touchscreen provides easy access to a comprehensive range of infotainment. Standard listening options include AM/FM Radio, HD Radio, and SiriusXM, all transmitted through the Revel 14-speaker sound system. You can customize your playlist using Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, or Android Auto audio streaming. A total of four USB ports are available to charge your device, and the occupants in front also get a wireless charging pad. Everyone in the car can also connect to the 4G Wi-Fi hotspot.
Infotainment packages come with voice-activated navigation as standard. For purer audio quality, you can upgrade to the Revel Ultima 20-speaker sound system found in the Black Label trim or the option to Backup as part of a combination of packages that cost quite a fortune.
2022 Lincoln Navigator Engine and Performance
The engine is mated to a capable ten-speed automatic gearbox. It’s not as smooth as we’d like to see on a vehicle in this price bracket, with some clunky low-end shifts, but as it moves, it regulates power output pretty well. This SUV comes standard with rear-wheel drive, except on the Black Label. The top-level trim gets an optional four-wheel drivetrain as standard.
Lincoln’s large three-row SUV can keep up best thanks to its powerful twin-turbocharged V6 engine, which delivers 450 hp of power and 510 lb-ft for its rear or fourth wheel options. Unfortunately, there are no manufacturer-approved acceleration figures for this powerful engine, but testers claim to be able to launch this giant SUV up to 60 mph from a still position in about six seconds. And it will definitely throw away your gas when encouraged to perform. The ten-speed automatic transmission is not really made for running around the city, as it can cause confusion when choosing a lower gear ratio.
In standard rear-wheel drive disguise, the Lincoln can weigh 8,700 lbs if properly equipped. It drops to 8,300 lbs with a four-wheel drivetrain, but the 4WD gets a two-speed transfer case and slow climbing drive mode to transport the load to steeper grades
2022 Lincoln Navigator Safety and Features
Other changes we can expect are an updated dashboard and a revised infotainment system that will help keep navigators relevant, something that’s especially important for Lincoln given the Cadillac Escalade that recently debuted. We also expect some drivetrain changes; especially hybrid powertrains derived from the 2021 Ford F-150, which we report also get hybrid powertrains.
2022 Lincoln Navigator Fuel Economy
Navigators are also cheap enough to run, as they rely on regular gasoline where the Caddy needs premium gasoline. With a 23.2-gallon tank, the Lincoln SUV can only travel up to 441 miles under its more efficient guise, so while gasoline mileage figures aren’t the best, you can arrange a wide drive before needing to fill up, at least.

There is quite a lot of small luggage storage space around the cabin, with the ones in front naturally getting the most out of it. Front passengers get access to standard glove compartments as well as cubby center consoles. There are also two cupholders placed on top of the console. Under the console, there is a large storage tray. Unfortunately, the door pockets are not very spacious. Second-row passengers get their own consoles in the Reserve trim and Black Label, equipped with cupholders and storage. Passengers in the back seat only get a pair of cupholders.

We expect the latest generation of changes to bring the latest colors to the new 2022 Lincoln Navigator model, which we found a number of paint colors available for the Lincoln Navigator, with early-level models gaining access to Infinite Black, Blue Diamond, Silver Radiance, and Silver Jade as standard options. There are some premium paints for $695 as well, including Burgundy Velvet, Iced Mocha, Pristine White, Red Carpet, and Ceramic Pearl, while the Reserve trim adds Rhapsody Blue. Black Label gets most of the premium palette for free, with a standard color selection consisting of Infinite Black, Burgundy Velvet, Rhapsody Blue, Pristine White, and Silver Radiance
2022 Lincoln Navigator Price Release
Lincoln has not provided any official information regarding the release schedule for its latest generation, disclosure is likely still a few months away, we expect we can see the 2022 Lincoln navigator redesign approaching a year. Our current forecast has an updated Navigator that debuts next summer for the 2022 model year.
